The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ronman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Smith scores with a takedown into Ronman's guard.
Ronman is looking to stand up but Smith isn't so interested in that idea.

Smith drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ronman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ronman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ronman!

Ronman tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ronman wants to stand but Smith has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.
Ronman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ronman wants to stand and escape but instead Smith has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Smith is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ronman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ronman has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ronman should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Smith has tightened it up now! Ronman should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rampage has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pellegrini finds it's way round the side to connect with Rampage's head.
Pellegrini fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rampage doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Rampage misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pellegrini changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Pellegrini tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rampage swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pellegrini has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Pellegrini has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Pellegrini has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rampage avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Rampage reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rampage taps out! Nice BJJ there by Pellegrini!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Toda shoots in for a takedown but Rouge shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Toda changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rouge looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Heitannan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Heitannan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
A nice side step and Heitannan releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
