The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Kerpel lands a slapping body shot.
De Kerpel throws a left and a right that both miss
and McQuaid counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
De Kerpel takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
McQuaid shoots in for a takedown but De Kerpel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
De Kerpel scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McQuaid doesn't seem bothered though.
De Kerpel is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

McQuaid closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. De Kerpel quickly recovers to half guard.

Karimov cracks Owens on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Owens falls backwards against the cage. Karimov follows up with more strikes that drop Owens to his knees. Karimov keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Owens! This one is all over!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pepo Vinkela!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vinkela takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kelly lands with a shot to the body.
Kelly slaps away a takedown attempt from Vinkela, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kelly connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vinkela has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Loblaw and the ref steps in to end the fight! Loblaw can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
