The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metamoris shoots in but no luck this time.

Metamoris shoots in and bounces Armo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Metamoris is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Armo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Armo has escaped and now he's on top!

Metamoris has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ponjev tests Stiffington's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Stiffington shoots for a double leg takedown but Ponjev sprawls well. He's pushed Stiffington's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Stiffington drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ponjev looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ponjev looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ponjev!

Stiffington is looking for a sweep. Ponjev is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Stiffington wants to control but Ponjev is keeping busy.
Stiffington avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ponjev.

Ponjev lands strikes from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stiffington looking for submissions off his back.
Ponjev wants to free his trapped foot but Stiffington is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Stiffington trying to control but Ponjev postures up.
Ponjev prevents Stiffington from improving his position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ponjev connects with a nice short shot to Stiffington's temple.
Stiffington wants to improve his position but Ponjev is controlling well.
Stiffington tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Ponjev has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stiffington seems to have recovered his senses.

and Ponjev scores with a counter punch that sends Stiffington to the canvas! Ponjev smells blood - he's punishing Stiffington with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Stiffington has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
