Lewis is trying to control the action in half guard but Meow is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Lewis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Meow manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lewis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Lewis stays in close to Meow's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lewis seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Lewis gets a double leg takedown into Meow's guard.

Meow throws a predictable looking body shot

and Lewis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Meow won't be happy with that.
Meow tries to bench press Lewis off him but Lewis keeps the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Meow looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Lewis avoids the body shot from Meow.

Meow misses with a wild body shot.

Lewis drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lewis throws a big right hand that misses.
Meow tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lewis distracts Meow with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Lewis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Lewis throws an elbow that misses. Meow uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lewis's guard. Nice move by Meow!

Lewis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Meow advances position into side control!

Meow wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lewis, who protects the arm well.

Lewis is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Meow is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Lewis looks calm but he's in trouble here. Meow gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Lewis is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Meow lets go of the hold and Lewis can pop his arm back in it's socket.

McCracken gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ulrich counters with a nice uppercut.
Horrible takedown attempt by Ulrich or perhaps it was just good defense by McCracken, which made it look bad.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ulrich has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Ulrich leaves McCracken with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McCracken looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ulrich is fending him off so far but McCracken persists. Nope, Ulrich circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paddy McCracken. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCracken stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McCracken wants it to stay on the feet.
McCracken will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ulrich shoots in but McCracken avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mazza is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mazza drops back looking for a leg! Ulrich is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ulrich manages to kick Mazza off! Mazza jumps back into Ulrich's guard.
Mazza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mazza drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mazza jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
