I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Paulo Ortiz was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Kuklin misses with a series of wild punches.

and Kuklin counters with a crisp one two that drops Ortiz! Kuklin thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Ortiz to his feet! Ortiz is in big trouble!
Ortiz shoots for a double leg takedown but Kuklin sprawls well. He's pushed Ortiz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kuklin just misses with a punch to the body.
Ortiz closes the distance looking to clinch
and Kuklin counters with a big right hand! Oh Ortiz is in trouble here! Kuklin follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloan shoots for a double leg takedown but Belly sprawls well. He's pushed Sloan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sloan lands a front kick.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Belly has eaten all the pies!

Sloan shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Sloan is taking a breather. Belly says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sloan decides to return to a standing position.
Belly throws a right hand that misses
and Sloan finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Belly will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

David is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
David throws a series of punches but Cold moves out of range.

David throws a right and a left that Cold avoids nicely.

Cold darts in looking for a takedown but David gets double underhooks and turns Cold into the cage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if David can do anything to dispel that myth.

David throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cold escapes and throws David's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cold is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down David's shoulder. That is not cool.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
David tries to improve position but can't.
Cold tries to stand but David is controlling his head.

David tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cold paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cold shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says David as he avoids it easily.

Cold bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in David's guard.

David is trying to control the position but Cold postures up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
