We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hawkins has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Rapist scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Hawkins shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rapist eats them both and turns towards Hawkins to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

That was a close second round but I would say that Magician Rapist will probably get the nod.

The crowd seem to be enjoying Pistone's choice of entrance music: Bonobo - The Sicilians. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

A very excited looking Joe Pistone rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Apollo Gutz!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gutz shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Hess will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
