Heed slips under a jab from Szeltan.
Szeltan throws the left hand but Heed avoids the punch easily.
Heed shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Heed counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Szeltan has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Heed should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Szeltan has tightened it up now! Heed should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Stephane Ouelet.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ouelet, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Anstey is nestled in close to Lemu, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Anstey here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Lemu wants to get back to full guard.
Anstey takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Anstey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lemu is bucking up trying to escape but Anstey cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Bunny Anstey decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
