Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bj Becks! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Burbank Bulldog! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bulldog shoots in looking for a takedown. Becks tries to sprawl out of it but Bulldog keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Becks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bulldog tries to clinch and Becks counters with a thumping low kick. Becks has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Bulldog throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Bulldog throws the kick towards the body but Becks avoids it. Bulldog shoots in and drives through. Becks sprawls well. Becks just misses with a punch to the body.
Becks lands with a thumping leg kick.
Sloppy strikes from Bulldog. Those never looked like landing. Bulldog rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Becks moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bulldog takes a body punch but keeps moving. Becks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bulldog.
Becks throws a nice looking combination but Bulldog bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bulldog chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Becks can pounce on him.
Bulldog throws a right and a left that Becks avoids nicely. Bulldog moves out of range of the body kick from Becks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bulldog throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Becks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bulldog throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Becks's waist but Becks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bulldog off to one side. Bj Becks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Burbank Bulldog. Bulldog tries to close the distance and clinch up but Becks swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bulldog misses with a head kick.
Bulldog tries to score a power double leg takedown but Becks sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bulldog somewhat. Bulldog looks winded! Bulldog throws a predictable looking body shot
and Becks counters with a single leg into guard. Bulldog didn't expect that. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Becks postures up in Bulldog's guard and throws a big left but Bulldog blocks it. Bulldog wants to sweep here but Becks controlling him for the moment. Becks is looking to advance position but Bulldog has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Bulldog wants to control the action but instead Becks gets a body lock and reverses into Bulldog's guard! Nice work! Becks scoring with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Becks is looking to work some ground and pound but Bulldog has wrist control. Becks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Becks pushing down on Bulldog's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Bulldog wants to get back to his feet. Becks is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Bulldog reverses the position - he's now on top in Becks's guard. Becks controls Bulldog momentarily but Bulldog frees himself. Bulldog has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Becks is proving hard to escape from. Bulldog must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Becks is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bulldog keeping moving, preventing Becks from controlling successfully. Becks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Becks controlling from the top position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Becks trying to control the position from guard on top but Bulldog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bulldog throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Becks postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bulldog looking for a sweep. Not yet Bulldog, not yet. Becks lands a couple of decent looking shots. Becks sitting in guard, not really doing much. Becks won't allow Bulldog to sweep him here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Becks trying to control but Bulldog is working from the bottom. Becks postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bj Becks dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bulldog tries to close the distance and clinch but Becks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bulldog avoids the body shot from Becks.
A nice combination there by Bulldog.
Bulldog gets the takedown into side control. Bulldog has knee on belly momentarily but Becks bucks him off and regains half guard. Bulldog looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Becks wants to improve his position but Bulldog is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Becks is defending against the submission attempts here by Bulldog.
Bulldog is thwarting Becks's attempts to control the position. Bj Becks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Becks is looking for a sweep. Bulldog is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are battling for position here. Becks manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Bulldog gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Becks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bulldog. Becks scoring well with a low kick there.
Bulldog throws a head kick but Becks moves out of range.
Bulldog misses with a takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Bulldog is breathing heavily. Bulldog throws a series of punches but Becks avoids them all with ease. Bulldog wants to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Becks throws a nice head kick!
A nice inside leg kick there by Becks. That's going to slow Bulldog down. Bulldog takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Becks misses the shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Becks moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Becks feints and then cracks Bulldog's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bulldog down. Bulldog throws a right and a left that both miss. Bulldog tries to move into range but Becks moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Bulldog walks into a jab. Bulldog closes the distance and clinches up with Becks, looking for a takedown. Bulldog pushes Becks against the cage but Becks circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bj Becks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Burbank Bulldog. Nice body punch from Becks. Becks lands a glancing blow to the side of Bulldog's head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bulldog throws a combination that misses and Becks counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Becks works his foot free and advances to mount. Becks lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Bulldog is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bulldog takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Bulldog is still in real trouble! Can Becks finish him? Becks cracks Bulldog with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Becks is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Bulldog goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Becks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Bj Becks! Bj Becks retains his welterweight title! After the big win, Bj Becks made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Milwaukee's Best 160 (85% laundry) and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.

Mcgee comes into a darkened arena with his song building. McGee kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcgee forces Martinez back against the cage and clinches. Martinez looking to slow down the pace here. Martinez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mcgee pulls him back up using the underhooks. Martinez looking to slow down the pace here. Nice body punch from Mcgee - that landed with a thud.

This has been an exciting period of action! Mcgee uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Martinez. Martinez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Mcgee closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Martinez's guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Mcgee working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Mcgee gets to his feet - Martinez follows without any prompting. Martinez misses with a jab to the body
and Mcgee counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Mcgee scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Johnny Martinez has been cut. Mcgee jabs at Martinez's body. Timothy Mcgee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This has been an exciting period of action! Mcgee scores with a hook to the body. Martinez takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Martinez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Martinez is breathing heavily. Mcgee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mcgee wants to control but Martinez is keeping him busy. Martinez is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Mcgee is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Mcgee cracks Martinez with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Martinez is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Mcgee locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Martinez is forced to tap!
