Thornton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Howard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thornton somewhat.
Thornton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Howard as he avoids it easily.
Mike Howard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cooper drops his hands momentarily and Bus needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Cooper just on the top of the head. Cooper drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Cooper - he's done!

Hughes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wai fails with the takedown.
Wai fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hughes avoids it really well and circles away.
Hughes moves in looking to clinch but Wai pushes him off.

Hughes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Wai is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Wai stands up and waves to Hughes to follow him.
Wai tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hughes defends well and Wai ends up having to push Hughes into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dude Love (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teddy Bass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Love kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Imagine. Dude Love had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 136.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!
