The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dynamo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nunes.
Dynamo takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Nunes misses with a body kick.
Nunes has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Dynamo is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Dynamo falls off balance throwing a combination
and Nunes counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Nunes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Nunes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dynamo was covering up waiting for the punch and Nunes finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Nunes stands up and waves to Dynamo to follow him.
Dynamo dives in and grabs Nunes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nunes pushes down on Dynamo's head and hops out.

Nunes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dynamo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Dynamo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Nunes dives in and grabs Dynamo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dynamo pushes down on Nunes's head and hops out.

Dynamo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Nunes defends well and Dynamo ends up having to push Nunes into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Dynamo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Nunes is trying to keep an underhook but Dynamo manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Dynamo wants to work for an arm triangle but Nunes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Nunes manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Dynamo keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Nunes is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dynamo to keep the fight standing.
Dynamo is looking for a takedown.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dynamo is trying to trip Nunes. He has hold of a leg but Nunes is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dynamo persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Dynamo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Trump stuffs the takedown.
Gates shoots for a double leg takedown but Trump sprawls well. He's pushed Gates's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Trump closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Trump is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gates is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
