The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gump tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Gump has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jones.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt
and Gump cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gump defends well and Jones ends up having to push Gump into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Gump.
Gump works on Jones's body with a couple of short punches.
Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jones jumps guard but Gump stands there with Jones around his waist. Jones gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jefferey Gump has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Jones.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Gump manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
