The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gable fails to land the takedown.

Quince gets caught flat footed, as Gable shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Quince is trying to control the position but Gable postures up.
Gable slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Quince controls Gable momentarily but Gable frees himself.
Gable chips away with some ground and pound.

Quince working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Gable has passed into half guard!
Gable perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Gable's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've been hearing that Gable has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

A big strike lands for Gable! That's really hurt Quince and he's turned his back - Gable keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Gable jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Beneventi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Duphus is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Beneventi shoots in for a takedown but Duphus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice straight punches there by Duphus. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Duphus.
Duphus throws a jab when Beneventi was well out of range.

Duphus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Duphus seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Duphus has hold of Beneventi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Beneventi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Duphus postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Beneventi in real trouble here! The ref calls for Beneventi to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

A determined Ruphus Duphus didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!

Toyotomi lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That was a close round but I would say that Kurtis Couturier will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
