And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Bagares!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver shoots for a takedown but Bagares saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silver shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bagares as he avoids it easily.
Bagares stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quick Silver. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silver shoots and misses
and Bagares counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Silver throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bagares counters with a left to the body.
Bagares tries a head kick but it misses.
Silver shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Silver tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bagares swivels and escapes.
Silver looks to land a combination but Bagares avoids it well.
Bagares scores with a jab.

Bagares drops Silver with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Silver looks back up at him and smiles so Bagares waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Silver is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bagares lands a slapping body shot.
Oh Silver is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silver is breathing heavily.
Bagares lands with a big right hook that stumbles Silver - he's out on his feet here! Bagares follows up with another monster hook that separates Silver from consciousness! Silver falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Bagares stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Seven Up!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Saul Goodman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Up misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Goodman misses with a wild combination.
Up tries for a takedown but Goodman circles away easily
and Goodman counters with a left and a right that stings Up.
No joy there for Goodman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Up has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Up takes one on the chin but seems OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Goodman's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Goodman duly obliges.

It looks like Seven Up has been cut.
Goodman ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Oooooh!!! Goodman has knocked Up down with a huge combo! Goodman steps away and waves a wobbly Up back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Up is rocked!
We've been hearing reports that Up has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Goodman looks to land a combination but Up avoids it well.
Oh Up is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Goodman connects with a stiff jab that staggers Up - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

A less than humble Saul Goodman misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
Seven Up was interviewed post fight and said 'Losing this fight is my fault, I didn't train hard enough. I will come back stronger.'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koljeno closes the distance and pushes McLennan back into the cage.
Koljeno is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Koljeno tries to stall but McLennan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
McLennan goes for a takedown attempt but Koljeno pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Koljeno tries to close the distance and clinch but McLennan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

McLennan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Koljeno's half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
McLennan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
McLennan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
McLennan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koljeno tries to kick McLennan off but McLennan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McLennan seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Koljeno has recovered full guard.
McLennan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Koljeno loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have McLennan scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Koljeno land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Koljeno stands and salutes the crowd.

Tharis wants to clinch up but Basayev keeps it at a distance.
Basayev thows a body shot but no joy.
Basayev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tharis.
Tharis has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

letting Basayev counter with a right hand.
Tharis moves out of range of the strikes.
Basayev scores with a shot to the body.
Tharis is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Basayev lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Tharis backwards.

Basayev creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Tharis with a big uppercut! Tharis tries to clinch up but Basayev pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Tharis to the mat! Tharis covers up and Basayev unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
