The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DePloi slips a jab and a cross from Marenia.

DePloi is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Marenia pulls his head out easily.

Marenia is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Marenia is going oldschool here, as he tries to force DePloi to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so DePloi shrugs it off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Roolson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ward tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Roolson is in Ward's guard.

Roolson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Ward has locked up a guillotine! Ward's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Roolson is holding on here and Ward must be using up a lot of energy. Roolson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Ward gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Rumi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chovanec's waist but Chovanec gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rumi off to one side.

Well Rumi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Moorehead lands a left and a right that send Myers crashing to the mat, dazed. Moorehead thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Devin Myers has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Moorehead is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Myers flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Myers is out cold! Moorehead holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jingle Jingle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jingle's entrance music is Kay Kyser - I got spurs that jingle jangle jingle. A fine choice. Kozlov has chosen Patrioticheskaya Pesnya as his entrance music. Aleksandr Kozlov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!
