The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
White tries to clinch there but Machida circles away.
White goes for a double leg but Machida avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Machida continues to drive forward.
White is trying to force a seperation but Machida has the dominant position.

Machida breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Machida counters with a crisp right hand that drops White! Machida lets White back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

White changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Machida looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Christopher Zeus.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andy Berdich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jesus Gaarlandt!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berdich slips a jab and a cross from Gaarlandt.

Berdich closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gaarlandt to the mat! Gaarlandt manages to get full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Gaarlandt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Berdich doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Berdich manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Berdich missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Berdich lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Berdich has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Berdich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gaarlandt swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gaarlandt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Berdich gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gaarlandt has his foot on Berdich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Berdich works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Berdich keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gaarlandt's head.
Our spies down at at HILITE Fighting Club inform us that Gaarlandt has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Gaarlandt has his feet on Berdich's thighs here. He's pushed Berdich off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Berdich screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
