The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pilkington has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pilkington and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Bass tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cortez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bass somewhat.

Cortez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Cortez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
