Hardy uses his free foot to push down on Schmidt's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Schmidt.

Hardy is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Hardy extends the arm and Schmidt is forced to tap!
