The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs throws a wild body kick that Carrell sees coming a mile off.
Carrell misses with an uppercut

and Riggs counters with a takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Carrell tries to buck Riggs off but Riggs is having none of it.
Carrell's coaches at Dragon MMA Academy have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Carrell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carrell tries to get out of the position.
Riggs working the strikes but Carrell uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Riggs is looking to advance position but Carrell won't allow it.
