Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Legere!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vince Paguandas!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Legere is looking to clinch but Paguandas is avoiding it.
Paguandas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Legere.

Legere fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Paguandas, pushing him back against the cage.

Legere gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Paguandas regains guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Legere stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paguandas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Paguandas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Legere controls the pace.
Paguandas looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Paguandas is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Paguandas throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Legere got a little sloppy there for a moment and Paguandas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Legere has managed to get both his arms back between Paguandas's legs - danger averted.
Paguandas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Legere looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Legere working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Paguandas's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Legere trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Legere lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Paguandas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Legere is one step ahead there.
Paguandas has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Legere showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Legere trying to control but Paguandas is working from the bottom.

Paguandas throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Legere with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Legere slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Paguandas looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Legere is defending well. Paguandas quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Legere has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Paguandas celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Columbus Steiner!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Richard closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Steiner to the mat! Steiner manages to get full guard.
Steiner has momentary wrist control but Richard slips an elbow through the middle.

Richard gets to his feet - Steiner follows without any prompting.
Steiner avoids a kick to the body.
Richard scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Steiner shoots in for a takedown but Richard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Steiner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Richard shoots for a takedown but Steiner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Steiner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Richard thows a body shot but no joy.

Richard has closed the distance and engaged Steiner in a clinch.
Steiner is trying to push Richard away but Richard has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Richard lands a nice uppercut.
Steiner keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Richard's efforts to push away.

Steiner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Steiner fails in his attempt to clinch.

and Richard moves into the clinch.
Steiner tries to pull guard but Richard holds him up against the cage and eventually Steiner drops back down to his feet.

Matt Richard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Columbus Steiner.
Steiner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wong tries to clinch but Sisson moves out of range.
Wong just misses with a punch to the body.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sisson enables Wong to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sisson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Sisson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Wong has passed into side control.
Sisson tries to improve position but can't.

Wong working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Sisson tries to buck Wong off but Wong is having none of it.

Wong decides to stand back up.

Wong trying to control the position from guard on top but Sisson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wong postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sisson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wong, into his guard.
Sisson won't allow Wong to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wong pulls Sisson in close to prevent any damage.
Wong trying to strike off his back.
Wong seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Sisson wants to pass the guard but Wong is keeping the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tsuen Wong.
Wong slaps away a takedown attempt from Sisson, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Wong closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Wong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wong fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wong swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Wong takes the fight into the clinch.
Wong has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sisson after a bit of a struggle.

Sisson wants to stall.
Sisson lands a shoulder strike.

Wong has clasped his hands together around Sisson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Wong happy to just control the position for now.
Sisson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wong creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Wong wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sisson, who protects the arm well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Wong stands up and beckons Sisson to his feet.

and Wong holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Wong gets control of Sisson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wong will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wong trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Wong is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We've been informed that Sisson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Wong is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wong blocks the strikes from Sisson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tsuen Wong dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Wong.
Wong tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sisson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wong sprawls well. Wong wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sisson gets slowly back to his feet.
Wong wants to clinch.

Wong closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wong lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sisson tries to strike from the bottom.

Wong trying to control the position from guard on top but Sisson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wong passes into half guard.
Wong passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sisson!
Sisson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wong lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Wong postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sisson looks a forlorn figure.
Wong looking to control and managing it successfully.
Sisson tries to reverse the position but Wong maintains control.
Sisson tries to hold on but Wong postures up.
Wong cracks Sisson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Wong looking for a guillotine from mount but Sisson is having none of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wong is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Sisson is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Sisson flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Wong anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Sisson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Wong slips an arm under Sisson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Wong has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Wong is squeezing on Sisson like an anaconda would it's prey. Sisson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
