The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aurelio throws a looping overhand right but Newton ducks down to avoid it.
Newton tries to clinch there but Aurelio circles away.
Newton throws a chopping leg kick but Aurelio manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Newton will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Aurelio feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Newton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Aurelio to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aurelio drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Aurelio seems to have locked his on tight now - Newton screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Aurelio, as he picks up the win!
