Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Sanderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Ford struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanderson fails to land the takedown.
Ford looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sanderson moves away from the strike by Ford.
Ford stuffs the takedown.

Sanderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ford avoids it really well and circles away.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sanderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sanderson drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Sanderson seems to have locked his on tight now - Ford screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Sanderson, as he picks up the win!

Oh, another knee lands and Hughes is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Hughes doesn't seem to be complaining.

Thompson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Matsuhita swivels and escapes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thompson is defended easily by Matsuhita.

Thompson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Matsuhita was covering up waiting for the punch and Thompson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Shimizu Matsuhita will probably get the nod.

Thompson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Matsuhita is fending him off so far but Thompson persists. Nope, Matsuhita circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Thompson or perhaps it was just good defense by Matsuhita which made him look bad.

Matsuhita cracks Thompson on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Thompson falls backwards against the cage. Matsuhita follows up with more strikes that drop Thompson to his knees. Matsuhita keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Thompson! This one is all over!

Samani is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Bruce manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Samani wants to hold on but Bruce pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bruce looking to ground and pound but Samani is blocking nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Samani regains half guard.
Bruce not landing any meaningful shots this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Simon Bruce.
I think Bruce has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
