The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gambler misses with a series of wild punches.
Silva slips a jab from Gambler.
Silva tries to clinch there but Gambler circles away.
Silva takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Wanderlei Silva has been cut.

Gambler clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.

Gambler's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gambler misses with a few strikes there.
Silva clinches but Gambler breaks the clinch

and Gambler counters with a crisp one two that drops Silva! Gambler thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Silva to his feet! Silva is in big trouble!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gambler feints and then cracks Silva's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Silva down.

Gambler drops Silva with a beautiful combination! Silva stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Gambler is looking for the KO!
Silva clinches but Gambler breaks the clinch
and Gambler counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gambler fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Silva checks it well.
Silva tries to clinch but Gambler moves away
and Gambler counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Silva is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gambler lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Silva has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Silva and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Gambler drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Silva's head, knocking him out cold! Gambler is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

Let's hope that Danes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jake Tyler.
