The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shirasu moves out of range of the leg kick from Gill.
Gill defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Shirasu.
Gill throws a series of punches but Shirasu avoids them all with ease.
Gill fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shirasu manages to avoid it.

Gill throws a nice looking combination but Shirasu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Shirasu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gill manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
JP Gill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shirasu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Shirasu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Gill is sitting in close to Shirasu's body. Shirasu has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gill is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gill is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Shirasu.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
