Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Lopez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fighters circling - Lopez throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Lopez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lopez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Silva's head backwards.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lopez lands a hook that stumbles Silva back into the cage. Lopez follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Silva to the canvas! Lopez pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Silva has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tyrion Lannister.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boothe turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Some wild striking there from Boothe.
Thomas Boothe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boothe looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Maokhamphiou has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Maokhamphiou takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Khru Maokhamphiou has been cut.
Nice straight punches there by Boothe. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Boothe.
Maokhamphiou tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Boothe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Boothe is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maokhamphiou tries to close the distance and clinch but Boothe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Boothe throws a sloppy head kick and Maokhamphiou moves out of range easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Maokhamphiou misses the target.
Maokhamphiou works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
That kick from Boothe tenderised Maokhamphiou's leg. Maokhamphiou is trying to keep his angry face on.
A slapping leg kick lands for Boothe.

Boothe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Boothe lands a nice shot to the body.
Boothe connects with a leg kick. Maokhamphiou looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Boothe throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Boothe fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Maokhamphiou chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Boothe can pounce on him.
Boothe plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Boothe circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Maokhamphiou to the canvas! Maokhamphiou doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Boothe keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
