The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gibb.
Powers scores with a hook to the body. Gibb takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The fighters circle momentarily. Powers darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Powers connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gibb. Gibb circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Tyrone Gibb has been cut.
Powers punishes Gibb's body with a nice straight punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gibb tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Powers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Troy Powers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powers lands a jab to Gibb's midsection.

Powers cracks Gibb with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Gibb looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Powers finish him?

Gibb shoots in for a double leg but Powers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gibb is still on wobbly legs! Can Powers finish him?
Gibb throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Powers counters with a huge left! Gibb is in big trouble! He's backing up but Powers isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Gibb from any more damage. A dominating finish by Powers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Troy Powers!
Troy Powers spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Seth Cohen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dalek Gallifrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gallifrey has chosen Resist the Thought- Extermination as his entrance music. Dalek Gallifrey told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

and Cohen counters with a crisp one two that drops Gallifrey! Cohen thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Gallifrey to his feet! Gallifrey is in big trouble!

Gallifrey drops his hands momentarily. Cohen doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Gallifrey staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Gallifrey doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ali kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rocky Theme. Kent Roger has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Roger throws a quick inside leg kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Roger is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ali gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Our sources have told us that Ali has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Roger misses with a knee to the head.

Roger breaks from the clinch.
Ali misses the shot to the body.
Ali tries to close the distance and clinch but Roger swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A left and a right from Ali both land. Nice combination.
Roger has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Some bone on bone action there as Ali checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
