The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mosaddegh throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mosaddegh connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jo scrambles back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Jo or perhaps it was just good defense by Mosaddegh which made him look bad.
Jo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mosaddegh counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mosaddegh enables Jo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mosaddegh manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mosaddegh wants to stand up but Jo is controlling him.
Mosaddegh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mosaddegh reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mosaddegh taps out! Nice BJJ there by Jo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atomi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Surov on the side of the head.
Surov misses with a wild body shot.
Surov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Atomi goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Surov looks to score with a jab to the body but Atomi is just out of range.
Atomi throws a body punch but Surov moves out of range.

Surov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Atomi circles away.

We've been hearing reports that Surov has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Atomi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Atomi has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Atomi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Atomi misses with a low kick as Surov jumps back.
Atomi connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Surov is looking to wear down Atomi with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Surov jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Surov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Surov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Atomi feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Surov's calf.

Atomi tries to clinch there but Surov circles away.
Atomi finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Atomi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Atomi closes the distance but Surov moves to the side

and Surov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Atomi's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Atomi is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Surov frees his head nicely. Oh but Atomi has switched to an armbar! Surov is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Tomi Atomi decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
