The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tigh walks into a left hand.
Tigh works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

and McKenzie counters with a lovely shot to the body.

and McKenzie makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Tigh shoots in for a double leg but McKenzie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rob McKenzie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saul Tigh.
McKenzie looks to score with a jab to the body but Tigh is just out of range.
Tigh looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McKenzie is fending him off so far but Tigh persists. Nope, McKenzie circles away and we're back to standing.
McKenzie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tigh was well out of range. Poor timing from McKenzie.
Tigh takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Tigh shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tigh showed some decent athleticism there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Tigh wants to work for an arm triangle but McKenzie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
McKenzie regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

McKenzie controls Tigh momentarily but Tigh frees himself.

Tigh has gone for a leg lock! McKenzie slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tigh's guard.
Tigh wants to improve his position but instead McKenzie has moved into half guard.

Tigh has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McKenzie is working away from the top position though.

Tigh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McKenzie has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tigh to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! McKenzie is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tigh pulls down on the head and he's put McKenzie to sleep! This one is all over!
