The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uzi misses with a two punch combination.
Jalkalukko dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Uzi. That did some damage!
Uzi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jalkalukko counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Uzi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jalkalukko.
Jalkalukko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Uzi.
Uzi shoots in for a takedown but Jalkalukko shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Uzi enables Jalkalukko to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Uzi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jurri and Bird are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Jurri throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Bird into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Jurri knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jones has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Silakka shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
A looping hook to the body misses from Silakka. Vitonen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vitonen has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Silakka connects with an inside leg kick.
Silakka throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vitonen looks to score with a jab to the body but Silakka is just out of range.
Silakka needs to keep his hands up - Vitonen had a free shot at his head there.
