Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chad Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinnie Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ortiz might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Eminem - Not Afraid. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Black darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ortiz wants to get back to his feet.

Black decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

and Black cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Black circles away from the clinch attempt

Black closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Black working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Black closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ortiz quickly recovers to half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Black decides to stand back up.
Vinnie Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Black shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Olong Johnson has been cut.
Losev throws a lazy right hand but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Losev throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
The fighters circling - Losev throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Johnson moves out of range of the strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson misses with a head kick.
We've been told by Losev's head coaches at Miletich Xtreme Fighting Systems that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Losev dips to his left and cracks Johnson with an uppercut!
Johnson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Losev on the side of the head.
Losev pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Johnson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Losev stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
