The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rick tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A chopping leg kick lands by Scarpa.
Scarpa fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Rick is out of range.
Scarpa lands with a nice body kick.
Rick avoids the head kick by Scarpa.
Rick is looking to clinch but Scarpa is avoiding it.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Scarpa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scarpa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Scarpa seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rick tries to get to full guard but Scarpa has control of the leg.
Rick on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rick tries to get out of the position.
Rick has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Scarpa is working away from the top position though.
Scarpa tries to pass to full mount but Rick defends it.
We've been hearing good reports from Rick's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

After winning the bout, Gregory Scarpa thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Slick Rick was interviewed post fight and said 'I darn near turned pale, and because of betrayal they indicted me, and gave me an impossible bail. '.

Gutz jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Frost lands a big head kick that sends Gutz tumbling to the mat! Frost takes a step backwards and waves Gutz back to his feet - he wants the finish!
