I think Sobolev might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ya kuplu tebe dom. McKenzie is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Man From Atlantis. Namor McKenzie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKenzie avoids the body shot from Sobolev.
Horrible takedown by Sobolev or perhaps it was just good defense by McKenzie which made him look bad.
Sobolev fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McKenzie manages to avoid it.
Sobolev looks to land a combination. McKenzie sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

It looks like Namor McKenzie has been cut.
Sobolev smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Sobolev fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
The crowd cheers as McKenzie lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sobolev doesn't seem phased though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McKenzie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sobolev.
Sobolev moves out of range of the strikes.
Sobolev throws a right and a left that both miss.
An inside leg kick lands from McKenzie.
McKenzie misses with a head kick.
Sobolev moves away from the strike by McKenzie.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sobolev crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from McKenzie - the referee stops the clock and Sobolev gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says McKenzie. Sobolev manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

We've been hearing that Sobolev has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Sobolev with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McKenzie to score with a decent uppercut.

Sobolev closes the distance and clinches up with McKenzie, looking for a takedown. Sobolev pushes McKenzie against the cage but McKenzie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

McKenzie's coach down at Team Hopkins was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McKenzie's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Sobolev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McKenzie as he avoids it easily.

McKenzie darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
McKenzie lands with a nice body punch.
McKenzie scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
McKenzie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sobolev moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

McKenzie scores with a sloppy right hand. Sobolev should have avoided that one.

McKenzie drops Sobolev with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Sobolev looks back up at him and smiles so McKenzie waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

McKenzie moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Oh Sobolev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sobolev takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
McKenzie fakes the body blow, causing Sobolev to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Sobolev goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
