Lister shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Suck napping and manages to drive through into side control!
You can see the frustration on Suck's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Suck is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Lister has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lister is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Suck is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Suck avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lister.

Lister has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Suck moves in looking to clinch but Lister pushes him off.

Lister closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Suck to the mat! Suck manages to get full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Suck will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lister looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lister connects with a nice short shot to Suck's temple.
Suck is trying to escape back to his feet but Lister uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Suck tries to improve position but can't.
Suck is breathing heavily.

Lister decides to stand back up. Lister steps back and let's Suck get back to his feet.
Dean Lister is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Suck rushes Lister and presses him up against the cage.
Suck tries to pull guard but Lister won't allow it.

Lister gets control of Suck's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lister will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Suck would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Lister is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Suck frees his head nicely. Oh but Lister has switched to an armbar! Suck is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Steffan Bonnar had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Steffan Bonnar could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Utter Bum's chin.
