The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Phillips tries to score with a low kick but Daemon moves his leg out of the way.
Daemon blocks a head kick by Phillips.
Phillips displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Daemon.
Phillips looks for the body kick but Daemon saw that one coming.
A jab lands there for Phillips.
Daemon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Phillips sprawls well. Phillips wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Daemon gets slowly back to his feet.
Phillips moves in looking to clinch but Daemon pushes him off.
Phillips tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Daemon paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Phillips is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Daemon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Phillips sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Daemon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Phillips defends it well.
Phillips has a hand on Daemon's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Daemon takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
The referee warns Phillips that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Phillips is wriggling around trying to escape.
Daemon lands a big shot there that rocks Phillips but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Daemon is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Phillips is surviving well by controlling Daemon's body position as best he can.

Phillips is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Daemon tries to control but Phillips wriggling away.
Daemon is really struggling to control Phillips but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Daemon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Phillips is looking to escape.

Daemon is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Phillips is forced to tap! Great finish!
