The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vader tries for a takedown but Crain circles away easily
and Crain counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Crain avoids a punch combination nicely.
Vader tries to score a power double leg takedown but Crain sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vader somewhat.

Crain has taken the fight to the clinch.

Crain works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Crain wants the takedown. Vader is fighting it off but Crain persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Vader's guard against the cage.

Vader has his foot on Crain's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Crain works his way back into a safe position though.

Timmy Crain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Crain has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Vader changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Crain tries to avoid it but Vader manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Crain to the ground. Crain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vader is breathing heavily.
Vader keeps the fight on the outside.
Vader lands with a shot to the body.
Crain gets in close and tags Vader with a short punch that almost sends Vader to the mat! Oh Vader is in big trouble! He turns his back on Crain, trying to create some distance but Crain rushes him, striking wildly and Vader goes down! The referee tackles Crain into the cage to end the fight! Crain is one violent man!

Bowlsby sizes up Kurucz with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bowlsby swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kurucz.
Crunch! Kurucz slams his shin into Bowlsby's torso.
Kurucz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Konovalov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Landeskog shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've been hearing that Landeskog has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Landeskog goes for an armbar but Konovalov turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Konovalov.

Landeskog is looking to cinch up a triangle. Konovalov throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Landeskog's body to avoid the submission. Landeskog has instead reached around Konovalov's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Landeskog arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've been hearing reports that Stelzer has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Stelzer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Montana moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wolfram Stelzer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stelzer manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Montana on his heels. He'll look to pass Montana's guard now, I'm sure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stelzer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Montana is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Montana has escaped and now he's on top!

Stelzer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Montana defends it easily.
Montana wants to control from the top but Stelzer keeps moving.

Stelzer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Montana is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Montana uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stelzer has time to react.
Stelzer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Stelzer shoots in and bounces Montana off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Stelzer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Montana swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Montana is looking for a triangle but Stelzer pushes his legs off easily.

Montana has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stelzer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
