The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryou stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ryou lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ryou.
Ryou fails to land with a series of punches.
King misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
King lands with a nice body kick.
We've been hearing reports that Ryou has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
King is looking to land body kicks.
Ryou lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but King circles away quickly and effectively.

King pushes Ryou up against the cage in a clinch.
King lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Ryou pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
King has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

King buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

King throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ryou's head.

King drops Ryou with a straight right hand, right on the button! King follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Hughes lunges at Carver with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Carver's hand.
Hughes feints a jab promting Carver to slip. Hughes then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Carver slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Hughes has Carver up against the cage in a clinch.
Hughes gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Carver.
A frustrated look appears on Hughes's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carver is trying to drag Hughes to the mat but Hughes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hughes is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Carver gets his way!
