The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Konopacki. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Konopacki.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Konopacki has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Walter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Walter blocks a head kick by Gouki.
Gouki cracks Walter with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Walter shoots for a double leg takedown but Gouki sprawls well. He's pushed Walter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gouki turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Gouki will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Shin Gouki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Walter chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gouki can pounce on him.

Oooooh!!! Gouki has knocked Walter down with a huge combo! Gouki steps away and waves a wobbly Walter back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Gouki ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Walter's jaw. Walter's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Gouki does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
