Maya uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Malone.
Malone wants to slow Maya down by chopping away at his legs.
The crowd cheers as Malone lands an impressive looking overhand right. Maya doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Damian Maya has been cut.
Maya avoids the head kick by Malone.

Malone shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maya's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Maya working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Malone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Malone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Taurus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kawajiri tries to avoid it but Taurus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kawajiri to the ground. Kawajiri escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Taurus is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Taurus is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Kawajiri couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Stevens got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hughes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stevens has managed to get both his arms back between Hughes's legs - danger averted.

We've been hearing good reports from Hughes's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
