Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hagen Germanicus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunnar Jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Germanicus comes to the cage accompanied by Now We Are Free. Jensen has chosen Devour as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Hagen Germanicus!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Gunnar Jensen!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jensen misses with a low kick.
Germanicus throws a front kick aimed at Jensen's knee but Jensen avoids it well.
Jensen with a poor takedown
and Germanicus counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jensen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Germanicus.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jensen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Hagen Germanicus has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Germanicus is looking to control Jensen's arms but Jensen gets an underhook and turns him. Now Germanicus has his back to the cage.
Jensen has had enough of the clinch but Germanicus keeps him there for the moment.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jensen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Germanicus lands a hook to the side of the head.
Jensen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Germanicus avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Hagen Germanicus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gunnar Jensen.

Jensen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Germanicus looks to score with a jab to the body but Jensen is just out of range.
Germanicus connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Germanicus misses with an uppercut. Jensen saw that one coming.
Jensen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Germanicus sprawls well. Germanicus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jensen gets slowly back to his feet.
Germanicus takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jensen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Germanicus waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Jensen. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Jensen to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Jensen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Germanicus!
Germanicus is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jensen trying to control but Germanicus is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Germanicus can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jensen throws a nice looking combination but Germanicus bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Germanicus drops his shoulder and cracks Jensen with a huge uppercut! Jensen goes down! Can Germanicus finish him?

Jensen is rocked!

It looks like Gunnar Jensen has been cut.
Germanicus arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Jensen's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Hagen Germanicus!
Hagen Germanicus retains his heavyweight title!
Post fight, an emotional Hagen Germanicus said 'We wait here for you, Maximus. Strength and Honor! And while we wait, we will shop like real barbarians at Syndicate Nutrition...'.
