Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Santana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zevran Arishok!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arishok lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
A telegraphed right hand from Santana misses the target.
Arishok moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Santana misses with an uppercut.
Arishok connects with a good right hand that stumbles Santana. Santana circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Santana looks to land a combination but Arishok avoids it well.
Arishok lands a jab to the head.
Arishok lands a nice shot that snaps Santana's head back.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Arishok has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Santana takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Arishok punishes Santana's body with a nice straight punch.

Oooooh!!! Arishok has knocked Santana down with a huge combo! Arishok steps away and waves a wobbly Santana back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Santana throws a body kick that misses.
Oh Santana is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Arishok connects with a crisp jab.
Arishok blocks a head kick by Santana.
Arishok fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Santana.
Santana rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Arishok moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Arishok jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Santana misses with a head kick.
Arishok lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Arishok lands with an uppercut that bounces Santana off the cage and back into range.

Santana walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Arishok swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

After winning the bout, Zevran Arishok thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Chason shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Grace manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Grace wants to work for an arm triangle but Chason is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Grace looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Chason is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Grace's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Grace's back!

Grace is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chason is aware though and is defending well.
Chason stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grace swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Chason has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Maeda connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mannelly has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Maeda finds it's way round the side to connect with Mannelly's head.
Mannelly stuffs the takedown.

Mannelly has taken the fight to the clinch.
I was talking to Maeda's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Mannelly keeps control of Maeda as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mannelly has a couple of punches blocked by Maeda.
Mannelly lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Mannelly stops a takedown attempt from Maeda.
Maeda is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Mannelly misses with a short punch on the inside.
Mannelly stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Mannelly is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Maeda is defending well for now.
Maeda jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mannelly walks away with a smile on his face. Maeda gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Maeda throws a solid leg kick but Mannelly takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Maeda.
Mannelly tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Maeda manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Donk. Mannelly catches Maeda right on the button with a cross.
Mannelly moves out of range of the leg kick from Maeda.
Maeda keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mannelly stops Maeda from passing to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mannelly gets back to half guard.
Mannelly trying to hold on to Maeda's head to control him but Maeda postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maeda looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mannelly with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mannelly moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Maeda wants to control from the top but Mannelly keeps moving.
Maeda is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Maeda is fighting to break Mannelly's control of his arms but Mannelly is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Let's hope that Mannelly has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mannelly manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

I would just about give that final round to Patrick Mannelly.
