Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Lugo!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez dives in and grabs Lugo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lugo pushes down on Mendez's head and hops out.
Mendez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Some bone on bone action there as Mendez checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

and Lugo counters with a big head kick but Mendez shrugs it off.

Mendez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lugo swivels and escapes.
Lugo tries to score with a low kick but Mendez moves his leg out of the way.
Mendez on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Mendez shoots for a double leg takedown but Lugo sprawls well. He's pushed Mendez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mendez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lugo tries to avoid it but Mendez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lugo to the ground. Lugo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mendez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Mendez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mendez wants to control from the top but Lugo keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lugo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Horrible takedown by Mendez or perhaps it was just good defense by Lugo which made him look bad.
Lugo fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mendez checks it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jim Mendez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mendez.
Lugo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lugo throws a leg kick which misses Mendez's front leg but catches the back leg as Mendez tries to avoid it.
Lugo throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Mendez crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Huggens seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

and Wang decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Huggens's guard.

Wang is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Huggens sees it coming and defends easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wang passes to full mount!
Wang fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Wang wants to finish this one by submission but Huggens is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Wang.

Huggens defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Wang.
Huggens knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wang on the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wang wants to control the pace but Huggens is squirming around nicely.

Long Wang dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Huggens cracks Wang with a nice body shot.
Wang is breathing heavily.
A left hand lands to the body for Huggens.
Wang takes a shot to the head.

Wang is rocked!
Huggens unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Wang! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Huggens is unloading with more strikes now! Wang drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
