The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Murphy cracks Harris with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A left lands for Harris.
Harris is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Murphy lands a left and a right that send Harris crashing to the mat, dazed. Murphy thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Harris is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Harris moves in looking to clinch but Murphy pushes him off.
Harris ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Murphy moves away.
Murphy staying out of range there.
Murphy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Harris.
Murphy avoids the body shot from Harris.
Brian Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Murphy on the wrong end of a nice jab.

and Harris counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Harris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Murphy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Murphy throws a series of punches but Harris moves out of range.

Murphy pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Murphy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Harris throws a body punch but Murphy moves out of range.
Murphy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Harris.
Harris misses with a right hand
and Murphy counters with a stiff right hand.
Harris doesn't manage to clinch there - Murphy circles away.
Harris blocks a head kick by Murphy.
Harris misses with a hook

and Murphy counters with a crisp one two that drops Harris! Murphy thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Harris to his feet! Harris is in big trouble!
Oh Harris is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Harris drops his hands momentarily. Murphy doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Harris staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Harris doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

We've been hearing good reports from Townsley's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Cruz throws the kick towards the body but Lemana avoids it.

Lemana clinches up with Cruz and pushes him back against the cage.
Cruz stalling in the clinch but Lemana improves position.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Lemana ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lemana no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Lemana escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cruz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cruz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lemana has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cruz has managed to get both his arms back between Lemana's legs - danger averted.

Lemana has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cruz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cruz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lemana swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cruz controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Cruz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cruz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cruz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lemana is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cruz, into his guard.
My spies in Full Affliction Fight Team -All Elite Coaching- inform me that Lemana has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Lemana is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Cruz to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cruz shrugs it off.
Cruz is trying to reverse the position but instead Lemana has taken his back - oops!
Cruz really is a fat lump.

Cruz won't enjoy being in this position. Lemana looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Cruz is tapping - it's over boys! Lemana picks up the submission victory!

Chavez closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Ruben Alamo has been cut.
Alamo dives in and grabs Chavez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chavez pushes down on Alamo's head and hops out.
Alamo circles away from the clinch attempt.

Chavez drops Alamo with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Alamo looks back up at him and smiles so Chavez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miles drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Price tries to buck Miles off but Miles is having none of it.
Price's coaches at BLACKSMITH GYM - THE 25 Coach Las Vegas Mega-Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Price is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Miles is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Miles controlling the position easily from mount.
Price is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Price is desperately trying to improve his position but Miles has a good base and remains in mount.
Price is working hard here to advance position.

Miles has control of Price's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Price regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Miles is landing with some decent strikes but Price is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Silva has Hicks pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Silva pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hicks tumbling to the mat - Silva dives into Hicks's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hicks's guard.

Silva is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Silva in particular looking to stall.

Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hicks sees it coming and defends easily.

Hicks is looking to improve his position.
Hicks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Silva seems to be looking for submissions.
Silva looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Silva is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hicks is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Black closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lewis quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lewis looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Black not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Black is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Lewis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Black looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Black pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lewis is keeping the position for now.
Black wants to stand and escape but instead Lewis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Lewis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Black is just riding it out for now. Lewis eventually gives up the hold.

Lewis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Black is throwing strikes by Lewis counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Lewis regains half guard.
Lewis is refusing to be controlled, as Black sits in half guard.
Black wants to free his trapped foot but Lewis is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Black is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Black is controlling the pace.
Black lands strikes from half guard.
Black is looking to take a break and control but Lewis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Black thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lewis's head.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Black dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Black's corner is telling him to maintain position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. James Black hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Lewis missing with a left hand there. Black was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Black tries a head kick but it misses.
James Black seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Black closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lewis to the mat! Lewis manages to get full guard.

Lewis is rocked!
Black is working Lewis over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Oh Lewis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Black sitting in guard here, content to control.

Black drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Black jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Black's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Black gets to his feet and stands over Lewis, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Lewis felt that one! Black unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Lewis from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Black!
