The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ladin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hyypia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hyypia has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hyypia.
Ladin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hyypia is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Hyypia is trying to stall.

Ladin throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hyypia blocks it with crossed arms.
Hyypia can't find room to land a body shot as Ladin controls the action.
With the fighters up against the cage, Ladin throws an elbow but misses.
Hyypia avoiding damage as Ladin throws knees to the body.
Ladin throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hyypia swings wildly with an uppercut but Ladin uses good head movement to avoid it.

Ladin tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hyypia avoids it.

Hyypia manages to break the clinch.
Ladin misses with a body punch
and Hyypia counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ladin thows a body shot but no joy.
Ladin missing with a left hand there. Hyypia was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Good work by Ladin as he checks the leg kick.
Ladin walks into a jab.
Hyypia with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ladin tries to clinch but Hyypia is having none of it.
Ladin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Ladin takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Hyypia moves into the clinch.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Ladin.
Ladin tries to land a knee to the head but Hyypia blocks with his arms.

Hyypia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ben Ladin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hyypia closes the distance and pushes Ladin back into the cage.
A body shot lands from Hyypia.
Ladin looks winded!
Hyypia tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ladin tries to land a knee to the head but Hyypia blocks with his arms.

Still in the clinch, Hyypia scores with a nice short uppercut.
Ladin tries to throw a body punch but Hyypia avoids it by throwing Ladin back against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hyypia escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ladin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hyypia.

Hyypia lands a big uppercut and Ladin crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Ladin looks OK. Hyypia waves Ladin back to his feet!

Ladin is rocked!

It looks like Ben Ladin has been cut.
Hyypia connects with a leg kick. Ladin looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Ladin is still on wobbly legs! Can Hyypia finish him?
Hyypia fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Ladin out cold! Brutal finish!
