That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Emilio Izturis.

Kono felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hideo Kono hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

He tries to recover but Rockefeller pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Kono is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
