The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riot shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Powers pinned against the cage. Powers gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Riot avoids a punch combination nicely.
Powers lands with a nice body punch.

Riot closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Powers quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Riot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Powers keeps working.
Powers is trying to stand back up but Riot is controlling him

Riot is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Riot is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Powers is just riding it out for now. Riot eventually gives up the hold.

Riot seems to be working for a kimura but Powers defends the submission attempt.

Riot changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Powers looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Powers is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Riot wants to stand but Powers is controlling his arm.

Riot is working to tighten is grip on Powers's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Powers has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Riot is really squeezing tight and eventually Powers passes out! Riot breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Carose seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Karwoski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Horrible takedown by Carose or perhaps it was just good defense by Karwoski which made him look bad.
Carose shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Karwoski but Karwoski pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kinny Carose's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
