Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vitor Ruskov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Mcdonald! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruskov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Ruskov fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ruskov tries for a takedown but Mcdonald circles away easily and Mcdonald counters with a nice double leg into guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Ruskov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcdonald can do anything to dispel that myth. Ruskov stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Mcdonald tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mcdonald avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ruskov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ruskov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mcdonald as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitor Ruskov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mcdonald throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ruskov fails with the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruskov dives in and grabs Mcdonald's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mcdonald pushes down on Ruskov's head and hops out. Ruskov shoots in for a takedown but Mcdonald shows good takedown defense. Ruskov closes the distance and clinches up with Mcdonald, looking for a takedown. Ruskov pushes Mcdonald against the cage but Mcdonald circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ruskov is breathing heavily. Mcdonald throws a sloppy head kick and Ruskov moves out of range easily. Ruskov fails with the takedown and Mcdonald counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mcdonald trying to control but Ruskov is working from the bottom. Mcdonald is working Ruskov over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Ruskov working a defensive guard but Mcdonald passes into half guard.
Mcdonald wants to work for an arm triangle but Ruskov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mcdonald is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ruskov manages to get to full guard.
Mcdonald wants to control from the top but Ruskov keeps moving. Mcdonald won't allow Ruskov to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcdonald throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ruskov works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ruskov thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Mcdonald working some strikes from top position. Mcdonald is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Mcdonald loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ruskov controls Mcdonald momentarily but Mcdonald frees himself. Mcdonald controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mcdonald trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcdonald loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mcdonald stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ruskov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mcdonald lands a couple of digs. Ruskov controls Mcdonald momentarily but Mcdonald frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mcdonald trying to control the position from guard on top but Ruskov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mcdonald really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ruskov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mcdonald trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Mcdonald dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Mcdonald looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Mcdonald thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Ruskov trying to control from the bottom.
Mcdonald thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ruskov's head. Mcdonald sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ruskov defending well though. Ruskov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Mcdonald. Mcdonald scoring with strikes to the body and head. Ruskov wants to control but Mcdonald is keeping busy.
Ruskov is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcdonald working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Mcdonald missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Mcdonald throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Ruskov to regain full guard. Mcdonald throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ruskov looking to control.
Ruskov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ruskov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mcdonald working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ruskov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruskov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mcdonald looking to pass the guard. Ruskov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mcdonald can't escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcdonald regains half guard. Ruskov is looking to take a break and control but Mcdonald is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ruskov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ruskov tries to stand but can't do so whilst Mcdonald controls his leg. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruskov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mcdonald knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Mcdonald wants to control but Ruskov is keeping busy.
Ruskov wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Mcdonald uses the opportunity to regain full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mcdonald pulls Ruskov in close to prevent any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Mcdonald showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Ruskov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Mcdonald changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ruskov tries to avoid it but Mcdonald manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ruskov to the ground. Ruskov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ruskov avoids a kick to the body.
Mcdonald feints and as Ruskov raises his hands in defense, Mcdonald changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mcdonald throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ruskov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ruskov will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Mcdonald showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Ruskov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Danny Mcdonald has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcdonald throws a strike but Ruskov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mcdonald working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ruskov. Ruskov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruskov looking to sit in guard and control but Mcdonald gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mcdonald advances position into side control! Ruskov is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mcdonald's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Mcdonald not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Mcdonald wants to take a breather but Ruskov is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruskov punching from the bottom.
Mcdonald lands with a punch from half guard. Mcdonald is taking a breather. Ruskov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Mcdonald is thwarting Ruskov's attempts to control the position. Mcdonald winds up and cracks Ruskov with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcdonald slips a nice elbow through Ruskov's hands, connecting with Ruskov's forehead. Mcdonald is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ruskov trying to get back to full guard but Mcdonald takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Ruskov sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mcdonald trying to control the action but Ruskov is working from the bottom. Mcdonald is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
And that's the end of the fight! Danny Mcdonald comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mcdonald has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Manny Gumbirium! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tung connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gumbirium's hands. Gumbirium is looking to land body kicks. Tung stuns Gumbirium with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Gumbirium tries to close the distance and clinch but Tung swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gumbirium takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Tung lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Gumbirium can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Tung and Gumbirium drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Tung.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Budo Tung! A relieved looking Budo Tung thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
