The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veterano displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vera.
A right-left combo lands from Veterano.
Vera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Veterano's waist but Veterano gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vera off to one side.
Vera shoots for a takedown but Veterano saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Marcelo Veterano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Efrain Vera.

Vera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Vera gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Vera apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Vera tightens his grip and picks Veterano up, before dumping him to the ground. Veterano manages to land in guard.

As Efrain Vera got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: To the ones who doubted me, FUCK YOU!!! I'm here to stay!!!'.

Liddell kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is It's Dark and Hell Is Hot. Rodrigues has chosen Joe Walsh - In the City as his entrance music. Jake Rodrigues has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Chuck Liddell's chin.

enabling Rodrigues to counter with a crisp jab.

Liddell closes the distance but Rodrigues moves to the side
and Rodrigues counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Chuck Liddell has been cut.
Liddell fails with an attempt to clinch.
Liddell shoots in looking for a takedown. Rodrigues tries to sprawl out of it but Liddell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Rodrigues manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Rodrigues! Liddell is backing up but he can't get away as Rodrigues lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Liddell and ends the fight. Great knockout.
