That was a close round but I would say that Juan Barrantes will probably get the nod.

Cruz throws the left hand but Varona avoids the punch easily.
Varona moves forwards but Cruz connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Varona moves away from the strike by Cruz.
Cruz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Varona fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cruz sprawls well initially but Varona persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Varona maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Cruz could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Varona has cracked it and Cruz is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Varona!
