The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wille throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hall tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wille is in Hall's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Wille is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Evanildo Bechara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toan does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Toan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bechara manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Toan blocks a head kick by Bechara.
Toan looks to land a combination but Bechara avoids it well.
Toan tries to clinch but Bechara moves out of range.
Toan misses with a wild body shot.
Toan on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Toan has a takedown stuffed.
Toan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Toan looks for a takedown but Bechara sprawls well.
Evanildo Bechara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johan Toan.
Horrible takedown by Toan or perhaps it was just good defense by Bechara which made him look bad.
Bechara throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Toan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Toan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bechara.
Bechara throws the kick towards the body but Toan avoids it.
Bechara fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bechara tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Bechara throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Nice body kick there by Bechara.
Evanildo Bechara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Toan looks winded!

Bechara rushes Toan and presses him up against the cage.

Bechara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johan Toan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bechara lands with a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bechara circles away from the clinch attempt.
Toan steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Bechara. That one must have hurt.

Bechara instigates a clinch.
Bechara lands a hook that snaps the head of Toan backwards.

Bechara breaks from the clinch.

Bechara closes the distance and clinches.

Bechara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bechara throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Bechara cracks Toan with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Toan looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bechara finish him?

Toan is rocked!

It looks like Johan Toan has been cut.
A head kick by Bechara - that's a beauty! Toan is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Bechara can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
