Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alun James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Power comes to the cage accompanied by Max is coming, better be ready.... James is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Mustasch - The Man, The Myth, The Wreck. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 29 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Alun James!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from James, right into the meat.
Power tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and James is able to avoid easily.
Power throws a predictable looking body shot
and James counters with a straight right hand.
James lands a slapping body shot.

Power clinches up with James and pushes him back against the cage.
Power tries to throw a body punch but James avoids it by throwing Power back against the cage.
Power throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Power has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
James is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Power tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Power to the ground. Power escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
James will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Power feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jamess jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Power tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Max Power will probably get the nod.

Max Power has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alun James.

That was a close second round but I would say that Max Power will probably get the nod.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pope kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is For Whom The Bell Tolls. Halo has chosen I am a Nightmare Walking as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
