Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edgar Hoover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frederick Barbarossa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoover comes into the arena with Ecstasy of Gold blaring out of the sound system. Frederick Barbarossa will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbarossa fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hoover tries to clinch up.
Frederick Barbarossa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hoover looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hoover shoots in and drives through. Barbarossa sprawls well.
Barbarossa throws a jab when Hoover was well out of range.
Hoover ducks under a wild hook from Barbarossa.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hoover accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Barbarossa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barbarossa wants to sweep but no luck.
Hoover has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hoover postures up in Barbarossa's guard and throws a big left but Barbarossa blocks it.

Hoover is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Hoover thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hoover throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hoover content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Barbarossa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hoover is pushing down on Barbarossa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Barbarossa is fighting to maintain full guard but Hoover has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hoover throwing shots but Barbarossa is blocking nicely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hoover connects with a nice short shot to Barbarossa's temple.
Barbarossa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hoover. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hoover trying to mount his opponent but Barbarossa defends it.

Barbarossa wants to get back to his feet.
Hoover sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Barbarossa defending well though.
Barbarossa avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hoover.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hoover throwing shots but Barbarossa is blocking nicely.
Hoover looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barbarossa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hoover trying to control the action but Barbarossa is working from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hoover lands a nice short elbow.
Hoover slips a nice elbow through Barbarossa's hands, connecting with Barbarossa's forehead.

Hoover is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Barbarossa is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
